Second Chances Farm Groom Elite
(SCGE) Vocational Program
A six month long formal vocational education school that is being taught at five Thoroughbred Retirement units located at state prison farms in South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Illinois and California. A complete list of topics covered is available from the left hand menu.
Our SCGE mission: To provide inmates with an opportunity to learn to work with horses thereby gaining a skill that increases their likelihood of employment, enables them to more fully understand their value as human beings and lessens the likelihood they return to incarceration.
